Political positions and party map
- Global Party Survey 2019 ↗ — Expert-survey baseline for five established parties; 0–10 economic and social-value scales.
- Policy.nz 2023 ↗ — Non-partisan manifesto and policy comparison used for qualitative cross-checking.
- Official party material ↗ — Current registered-party and electoral-system context.
Global Party Survey scores date from 2019 and are a baseline, not a claim that parties never move. Parties absent from that release use a visibly labelled editorial synthesis with wider uncertainty.
Party-match source material
The 20-question matrix is reviewed against current official party material. These are primary policy hubs; question screens identify the parties whose material is most relevant to each classification.
- National — current plan and delivery programme ↗
- Labour — 2026 election policies ↗
- Green Party — complete policy ↗
- ACT — policy programme ↗
- New Zealand First — policy programme ↗
- Te Pāti Māori — policies ↗
- Opportunity Party — policy programme ↗
The five-point scores remain NZ Polls editorial judgements. An absent or contradictory position is classified as mixed or unclear rather than inferred from a party's broader ideology.
